Homecoming!

Julie and Ashton were discharged from the hospital just after he got his required 48 hour blood test, so we got home right around midnight Friday. It's so good to be home, and while he'll be sleeping in a bassinet in our room for a month or two, Ashton's already put our nifty glider rocker to use for his first home-style feeding. The dogs aren't quite sure what to think. Between missing mommy and daddy for several days, a new brother, and mommy and Ashton needing some dog-free time, it will take some getting used to I'm sure.

This whole thing is amazing. Daddy's reaction to walking in the door with Ashton was a mix of joy and helplessness. No nurses, nobody but us, and no matter how many books you read and how many classes you take, you're never prepared for that feeling of awesome responsibility. Mommy had similar feelings...a combination of excitement and fear. Excited that he's finally here, but scared that he's here at the same time.

Pray for us as we start our new lives as a family!

  2. We are so excited for you. We'll keep you in our prayers...I do remember that wierd feeling the first week at home...things are so different. You'll blink and look back soon enough not recalling life before Ashton.
